Old River Grill
Meet Roger Coughenour, owner of Old River Grill, a locally owned and family-operated diner-style café specializing in breakfast and lunch menu items. After 15 years of working in the restaurant industry, Roger opened his first of three Old River Grill locations in 2013. In need of an identifiable name, and in celebration of Kern River and its importance to the community of Bakersfield, Roger established the restaurant name of the local favorite, Old River Grill. The restaurant uses the freshest, locally sourced ingredients to make all of its food from scratch. Customer favorites include Chicken Fried Steak, Chile Verde Omelet, and the popular Bourbon Street Omelet. Keep an eye out for their monthly specials with unique recipes that rotate throughout the year. For the month of September, customers can enjoy Harry Potter Butter Beer Pancakes. OId River Grill is open daily from 6:30am to 2:30pm and although reservations are not available, customers are encouraged to download the Yelp App and join the online waitlist.
