Meet Luigi Rienzo, co-owner of Mama Tosca’s, a family-owned and operated restaurant dedicated to providing authentic, flavorful, Italian dishes in a tastefully elegant setting. Born and raised in Italy, Luigi and his brother Toni were always surrounded by good food as their family ran an independent Italian grocery store. In 1982, the Rienzo family brought their family recipes to the Bakersfield community and opened Mama Tosca’s, lovingly named after their mother, Tosca Adeline. The need for a more spacious venue led to the relocation of the restaurant to The Marketplace in February of 2000 which added more seating, an elegant full-service bar, and two private dining rooms. Over the past 21 years, generations of customers continue to enjoy the genuine Italian hospitality, authentic homemade recipes, and charming atmosphere. Popular menu items include the Fresh Sea Bass Diablo, House Specialty Rack of Lamb, and Lasagna Mama Tosca.
