Meet co-owner, DeeDee Todd, who will be celebrating 20 years at The Marketplace this year. She started as a hairstylist at Tangles Salon in 1989 and soon became a business partner of Indigo Salon in 1991. As the offspring of Indigo Salon, Essentiels has evolved through the years and continues to grow in reflection of its diverse clients and community. Essentiels was first formed in May 2001 by DeeDee Todd and Gail Fussy, two friends – one from the world of beauty, the other from business – brought together by their passion to deliver the highest quality and most luxurious hair, skin and beauty products and services to the women and men of Bakersfield.
