Meet Kathy Hunt, owner of the Bakersfield franchise Color Me Mine. Kathy spent 18 years working as a Certified Public Accountant before opening her studio in 2004. When she quit her accounting job, she just so happened to visit a Color Me Mine in Mammoth Lakes and instantly fell in love with the family-friendly atmosphere of the paint-your-own pottery business. Upon returning to Bakersfield, the Color Me Mine franchise was looking for someone to buy the business at The Marketplace. With living so close to the shopping center, “It seemed like the perfect opportunity for me,” said Kathy. Although owning her own business keeps her busy, it also allows her the flexibility to spend time with her husband, kids, and grandkids.
